The Tenants Union of Washington was back in Olympia today to testify in support of the Fair Tenant Screening Act. Low income tenants often pay hundreds of dollars to landlords for multiple copies of the same screening reports, just to get denied over and over. The Fair Tenant Screening Act will ensure affordability and accuracy in tenant screening reports. This morning in Olympia, Alouise Urness of the Tenants Union of Washington joined with Greg Provenzano of Columbia Legal Services and other housing allies to testify in support of an important bill that would give tenants more time to deal with ‘no cause’ notices to terminate tenancy.
